As In Real Kelp Forest

I put this picture on sale somewhere with a comment it reminded me of those great kelp forests in California. It’s just that these weeds were only 3-4 metres tall, but the California forests can grow to about 20 metres.

Somebody purchased the picture recently. I don’t know who he was, but the buyer was from California. Now perhaps I should go and make pictures of real kelp forests there.

I have made this picture at the Ti Point wharf near Leigh. When I dive there I usually use that small boat ramp at the wharf and then swim straight. On my way out I get deeper into the harbour channel to follow the weed stacks that are the furthest from the shore. On my way back I usually go through the maze of large boulders with the weeds closer to the shore.
