Tidal Flow in Reotahi

Diver at yellow sponge

In most cases when I need a picture of a scuba diver, I make a selfie. I would prefer to use somebody else as the model, but it’s not often possible. Quite often I dive alone. When I have a buddy, he/she is a regular buddy, not a model. I often chase her/him during the dive to get the pictures I want, yet often have to scrap them as the results are not satisfactory. This way I can be unhappy only with myself.

The picture is from Reotahi during the incoming tide. Note the Ecklonia fronds bent in the current, almost touching the bottom. I was moving down and up the slope sideways, due to the strong current I had to abandon the original idea to swim around.
